Are we under the 10 commandments?

Are we under the Ten Commandments? In past lessons, we've noted rightly that the Old Testament law was taken out of the way, nailed to the cross, and blotted out (Colossians 2:14). Seeking justification by it would sever yourself from Christ and make you fall from grace (Galatians 5:4). We also noted that the Sabbath law specifically is not bound upon us today. One man asked, "If that's so, are we free then to have other gods, commit adultery, lie, steal, or break any of the other Commandments?" Looking at the word of God, we find that the Ten Commandments are part of that which was taken out of the way. In Romans 7:4, the Apostle Paul points out that we are freed from the law by the death of Christ. In verse 7, he specifically notes that the law we are freed from said, "Thou shalt not covet." So, what about the other Commandments that God gave besides the Sabbath law? Are we free from all of those? In a sense, yes, but in another sense, no.
We encourage all to open their Bibles, be noble, and seek the Bible's truth (Acts 17:11).
